Challenge

Fragmented HR and Admin Functions Across a Multinational Manufacturing Workforce

Before this HRMS deployment, HR and admin functions operated as separate, disconnected systems across the client's automobile manufacturing plants — creating duplicated data entry, delayed approvals, and limited visibility into workforce availability on the shop floor.

Manual Processes Slowing Down Plant-Level Decisions

Shift scheduling, attendance tracking, and leave management were handled through manual or semi-digital processes, making it difficult for plant managers to get real-time headcount visibility during gemba walks or daily production reviews — a critical gap in a manufacturing environment where every shift's staffing directly affects the production line.

A Multinational Scope, a Single-System Requirement

As a multinational automobile manufacturer, the client needed an HRMS capable of standardizing HR processes across multiple plant locations while still accommodating local compliance and labor law variations — a significant systems integration challenge beyond a typical single-site HR tool.

Solution

A Unified HRMS Covering the Full Employee Lifecycle

QAS developed an HRMS solution that integrates HR and admin functions into a single system, covering Employee Engagement, Applicant Tracking, Onboarding, Employee Attendance and Time Management, Artificial Intelligence, Leave and Travel Management, Performance Management System, MIS Reports, Payroll Management, Shift and Roster Management, and Offboarding.

A Mobile-First Platform for Plant Workforce Management

The mobile app extends the HRMS directly to employees and shift supervisors, including travel, accommodation, and cab booking, alongside time and office management — designed specifically for the realities of a manufacturing workforce that isn't sitting at a desk all day.

Built on a Modern, Scalable Web Stack

The implementation was built using C#, MS SQL, ASP.NET Web API, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and AngularJS — giving the client a responsive, web-and mobile-ready HRMS platform capable of scaling across multiple manufacturing sites.

A Focused Delivery Team

A team of 5 to 10 QAS engineers delivered the solution across onsite and offshore delivery models over a 1-year engagement, reflecting a fast, tightly scoped digital transformation project rather than a multi-year rollout.

Result

From Fragmented HR Data to Centralized Workforce Intelligence

The HRMS deployment gave the client centralized employee data management for the first time — replacing scattered, plant-by-plant HR records with a single source of truth accessible across the organization.

Streamlined Operations Across Payroll, Recruitment, and Compliance

With streamlined payroll and compensation processing, automated recruitment and onboarding, and compliance and labor law adherence built into the system, the client reduced manual administrative overhead while strengthening regulatory compliance across its manufacturing sites.

Workforce Data as a Strategic Growth Lever

Beyond operational efficiency, the HRMS positioned workforce data as a genuine business asset — giving leadership data-driven HR decision-making capability, performance management and employee development tracking, and time and attendance visibility that supports smarter shift planning at the plant-floor level, directly tied to production continuity and gemba-level operational awareness.

A Reference Digital Transformation Model

This HRMS implementation demonstrates QAS's capability to deliver Industry 4.0-aligned digital transformation beyond production systems alone — extending smart manufacturing principles into workforce management, and positioning the client's HR function as a data-driven, digitally mature operation supporting its broader manufacturing digitalization strategy.
